Business start-up package for a new business, Melbourne

Written by Jack Harrington and Gabriel Pozo, the founders of Urban Media, Melbourne. Updated .

Opening a new business or brand means looking established before you have a track record: a brand that is set up properly, a website that works, content that shows what you do, and a way to catch and follow up enquiries. Urban Launch is a done-for-you package for that moment.

The prices are published, the order of the work is fixed, and we ask three things of you, not a project to manage.

What a new business needs to open

  • A brand: identity, logo, colour, type and voice.
  • A website that is live and built to be found, plus Google Business and basic SEO.
  • Content: a launch shoot that fills your first months, cut for where you post.
  • Systems: enquiry, booking and follow-up automations, built and tested, so no enquiry goes cold.

What a business start-up package should include, in order

Most start-up packages are a list of services. What matters is the order, because each step feeds the next: the website is built on the brand, the shoot is planned around both, and the systems catch the enquiries the first three create.

  • Brand first: name check, logo, colours, fonts and a one-page style guide.
  • Website second: built on the brand, live, set up to be found and to take enquiries.
  • Launch shoot third: the film, reels and stills that fill your first months.
  • Systems last: enquiry, booking and follow-up, built and tested.

How to compare start-up packages

  • Is the price published, and does it say whether GST is included?
  • Is the work done by one team in a fixed order, or handed between suppliers?
  • Do you own the domain, the accounts and the files at the end?
  • What is the promise, and what does it depend on from you?
  • Can you see real finished work?

What to sort before you call us

These are the official bits, and they stay with you and your accountant. This is general information, not legal, tax or financial advice. Our guide on what to do after registering an ABN puts them in order.

  • Get an ABN. It is free at abr.gov.au.
  • Register your business name with ASIC if you will trade under a name that is not your own legal name (asic.gov.au).
  • Check whether you need to register for GST. The ATO sets the turnover threshold, so check ato.gov.au for the current figure.
  • Check what licences, permits and insurance your industry needs (business.gov.au and business.vic.gov.au).

The 45-day promise, and what it depends on

The promise is that you are live and generating enquiries within 45 days, or we keep working at no extra cost until you are.

It holds as long as you spend on media, answer your own leads, and approve creative and campaigns within 48 hours.

Is it right for your business?

It is if

  • You're starting or scaling a business, trade or product.
  • You can invest properly in getting it right.
  • You're a tradie, a founder or opening a new brand.
  • You'll show up for the shoot and turn approvals around fast.

It isn’t if

  • You're pre-revenue with no budget for this.
  • You want the cheapest option, regardless of how it looks.
  • You just want a logo, not the whole launch.
  • You won't reply to your own enquiries.

All of them are on the guides page.

Start with a Launch Call

Live and generating enquiries within 45 days, or we keep working at no extra cost until you are. The Launch Call is where we check it is the right fit before we book anything in. For a real example, read the Airwize case study (12 conversions, meaning leads that became sales, in the first month of Google Ads from $70 of ad spend, our figures). You can also read how a launch package compares with hiring separately, or go to the packages and prices on the homepage.
